Do it with the car off if you've never done it before, have the engine warm, and don't forget to select the correct engine from the menu, and please have a good torque wrench. As someone already said, if you think you saw it move, you probably did, and you probably still went too far (especially if you're well within spec already). It is a very very small adjustment toward (IIRC) the back of the car (CCW) to advance on the ALH. These are not the bolts you can see on the top of the pump, you take off the timing belt cover and it is obvious when you look around the injection pump pulley.

You loosen three bolts slightly so that you can turn a larger 22mm? center nut. The drawing in my Bentley and my erWin copy of the drawing show the same thing. No it's a physical adjustment on the pump. I suspect that someone saw that wire 3 goes to the shield on wire 2 (which is also shown on the wiring diagram.) and thought it was the center conductor. My wire 2 and 3 are definitely not connected, as the resistance measurements above show. I do not know where the ground is located.ĭrawing series 81/5 is apparently in error in at least one respect: it shows wire 2 connected to wire 3 (between the plug and the ECM) at wiring connection 200 (but, unusually, does not indicate where wire connection 200 is). Pin 3 of the crank engine speed sensor is shown as going to a ground, and the resistance measurement I took shows that it very likely does. I can see no external ground wire from the head.

With the ECM end still hooked up the cable to the sensor gives: Sensor pin 1 or 2 to 3 is more than 6 Megohms In which case I should not have 2.4V on it, and almost no resistance toĭoes anyone have a pinout of the connector, or values of the voltages / resistance that should be on the pins?Īny help would be much appreciated, this is turing into one of the most frustrating faults I have had on this car! I believe one of the crank sensor plug pins should be a ground? Plug (wiring harness) pin to ground voltage readings (key on) are: Plug / (wiring harness) pin to ground readings (key off) are : This afternoon I dug the multi meter out and checked a few things, and suspect I have an ECU issue of wiring problem:Ĭam Sensor: (I think these readings seem ok?) Group 51 is not available and the new crank sensor still shows no output of engine speed while cranking.
